Old School RuneScape clans have been an unofficial thing for as long as the game existed, but in 2021 Jagex made it official and introduced the new clan system. While there are various platforms where you can find OSRS clans if you want to join one, this new OSRS Clan Spotlight series will bring you a different insight into what to expect from some of the top OSRS clans, with unique interviews with the clan leadership.

November’s spotlight is on a 4PF, a hot Old School RuneScape Clan that’s been around for a long while. Recanted, the former owner of the clan, agreed to answer a few questions and reveal why this community is HOT!

What inspired you to start your own clan in OSRS?

Simply put, I would argue 9/10 of OSRS clan lack personality. Finding a clan isn’t hard, there are plenty to choose from. The real issue is that they all feel the same.

What differentiates your clan from other clans in OSRS?

4PF was created with one goal. Create a social melting pot where anyone can hop in and join the conversation, events, boss runs, social gatherings at any time with no knowledge of those around them or what’s going on and still have a good time.

How would you describe the overall culture and atmosphere of your clan?

“Hot” is the best word to describe it. 4PF members are extremely outgoing, sometimes too much so. The clans biggest asset is the community and it shows. A 4PF member is a member of a very large diverse family, as cliche as that sounds. As mentioned before, everyone is always looking for new friends to skill, boss, or just chat it up with. 4PF pride is a very real thing. People are proud and happy to be members, and like helping others achieve the same.

Can you share a particularly memorable event that your clan has organized?

Aside from running boss and getting insert expensive drop? Plenty. We run charity drives for St. Jude’s children’s hospital via streaming sites hosting by clan members, and donated to by clan members. We also host plenty of multi clan events, allowing members to interact and befriend other clans and players they normally would never interact with.

What types of events and activities does your clan regularly host?

The beauty of our design is we do everything. Name it, we do it. Not much else to say here.

What events you haven’t done already but are eager to host in the future?

Being around as long as we have, I can say we have hosted every event possible. However we are always open to extremely creative ideas.

What’s the most wholesome moment you’ve witnessed in your clan?

Our charity drives are the first thing that comes to mind. Likeminded individuals getting together and raising money for sick children while having a good time together? Doesn’t get much better.

What are some of the biggest changes you’ve implemented in the clan over time?

4PF has remained pretty much the same since inception. I’d say that’s one of its perks. People are very comfortable.

How do you handle recruitment and ensure new members fit well with the clan’s culture?

Word of mouth is the best source of advertisement. We don’t “recruit” anymore. Members tell their friends about the clan, they join, and the cycle repeats. As mentioned before, members are instantly hit by a chat spam of welcomes and more times than not they join whatever conversation is going on at the time. It’s very easy to get integrated.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of being a clan owner for you personally?

For myself, it’s the community feel of the clan. It’s very easy to log in and play OSRS as a single player game. 4PF however is almost like a home away from home, and our members are actively looking for more ways to join in and get involved.

What question would you ask the clan owner whose clan you’re prospecting joining

My personal opinion is that if a clan members needs to ask a bunch of questions to understand what clan they’re joining, the clan isn’t very well ran or explained. Integration should be seamless. If it isn’t then it is a clan issue, not a member issue.

What’s the best way for players interested in joining your clan to contact you?

Discord.gg/4pf is our url (type it into google!) once inside and there are questions that are somehow unanswered, they can feel free to DM me.
