Old School RuneScape clans have been an unofficial thing for as long as the game existed, but in 2021 Jagex made it official and introduced the new clan system. While there are various platforms where you can find OSRS clans if you want to join one, this new OSRS Clan Spotlight series will bring you a different insight into what to expect from some of the top OSRS clans, with unique interviews with the clan leadership.

Finally, we’re spotlighting an iron only OSRS clan: IronGuild. Whether you’re a regular ironman, HCIM, ultimate ironman or GIM, if you wanna be in a clan that plays alone together, this is the place. The clan is welcoming both veterans and players who are new to this restricted game mode.
What inspired you to start your own clan in OSRS?
I started Ironguild because I wanted to create a tight-knit, ironman-only community that welcomed players of all levels. The Ironman mode adds a unique challenge and sense of achievement to the game, and I wanted to share that experience with like-minded players who are passionate about playing independently yet together.
What differentiates your clan from other clans in OSRS?
What sets Ironguild apart is our strong sense of community and support. Being an ironman can be a solitary experience, but in Ironguild, we focus on helping each other through the challenges and celebrating each other’s achievements. We have a diverse group of players, from beginners to veterans, all united by the Ironman mode.
What events you haven’t done already but are eager to host in the future?
We would love to do collaborative events with other Ironman clans in the future. We have significant experience in event management and would love to share this experience with other clans to improve the overall OSRS Iron community.
How would you describe the overall culture and atmosphere of your clan?
Our clan culture is friendly, inclusive, and collaborative. We pride ourselves on being supportive and encouraging, whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out. The atmosphere is relaxed but dedicated; we enjoy the game and push each other to achieve our personal goals.
Can you share a particularly memorable event that your clan has organized?
One of the most memorable events we organized was a massive bingo event. We had around 50 active members participating, and almost everyone was competing and putting in serious hours. The energy and excitement during that event were incredible, and it really brought the community together in a unique way.
What types of events and activities does your clan regularly host?
We regularly host a variety of events, including monthly Skill of the Week and Boss of the Week, minigame evenings like Barbarian Assault, and, of course, Bingos. Our events cater to all skill levels and playstyles, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy and participate in.
What’s the biggest drama or conflict you’ve had to deal with as a clan owner, and how did you resolve it?
The biggest drama we’ve faced was when two of my mods had a falling out and couldn’t trust each other anymore. It was tough because they had both been with the clan since the beginning. Ultimately, they both decided to leave the clan on their own, which was sad but necessary for the group’s harmony. Their departure allowed us to move forward without the tension. Since this experience, we have put numerous safeguards in place to ensure disruptions like this do not happen in the future.
What’s the most wholesome moment you’ve witnessed in your clan?
When we got together for a group photo! We all spent quite a while timing our jumps together, and when we finally got the perfect picture, everyone erupted with excitement.
What are some of the biggest changes you’ve implemented in the clan over time?
Most of our changes revolve around administrative changes that have improved the efficiency and effectiveness of our clan staff. We are also revamping our ranking system soon with the introduction of increased rank slots! This will prevent members from feeling ‘stuck’ in a rank and also clean up the chat.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of being a clan owner for you personally?
The most rewarding aspect has been watching the friendships and camaraderie that have developed within the clan. Seeing members achieve their goals, help each other out, and share their successes is incredibly fulfilling. It’s gratifying to know that Ironguild has become a second home for many players.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Ironguild is more than just a clan; it’s a family. We’re always open to new members who share our passion for the ironman mode and our commitment to a supportive and inclusive community. We welcome players of all levels and backgrounds to join us and become part of our journey.
What’s the best way for players interested in joining your clan to contact you?
The best way to contact us is through our discord server or in-game by messaging any of our clan members or just join the Clan Chat ‘IronGuild’ ingame. We’re always happy to chat and welcome new ironmen into our ranks.
